Drawing on this ancient myth for inspiration and playing upon the abstracted shape of a comb - with it’s spikes and edges, we re-imagined this shielding story into a modern folk melody that became the JUNETHINGS Comb collection.

> listen to it everywhere you travel: be it Paris, Vilnius, LA or Tokyo

> the good, the bad + the forest morphed into our minimal but romantic folk story

> comb protects you against witchcraft:

Is someone chasing you? Brush your hair back and run. As fast as you can. Or rip your COMB pendant from your neck and throw it over your shoulder. Not very practical, if it’s a diamond pavé piece! But chic as hell. Game changer - the evil - or witches that haunt you - will be trapped.

In Baltic folklore, there is a reoccurring theme surrounding talismanic comb: a magic amulet to fight off the wicked.

When the protagonist is chased by a sorceress - he / she drops a tiny comb pendant over his / her shoulder and a forest rises up in it’s place. The vicious then become trapped forever amid the trees.

Believe it or not, these magic combs actually existed. AND people carried them around for protection and good luck. Some of the oldest combs discovered date as far back to the 7th-9th centuries. You can see them in Baltic art or amber museums.
